SP Heated Diving Vest With Battery, Canister, Connections

Description

SP Heated Vest with canister, battery and E/O cord & connectors.
Standard 4.5 amp/H niMH battery or 9 - 13.5 niMHamp/H upgrades.

Silent Planet's innovative Heated Vest System has been designed to effectively apply heat during the decompression stage of a dive, utilising the diver's primary light battery or an additional battery canister. The vest is designed to deal with core temperature drop particularly at the ascent phase of a dive where there is a lack of physical activity. Uniquely the SP Heated Vest covers the lower back, providing heat to the vital kidney area.

Designed to work safely even if a drysuit flood occurs, the SP Heated Diving Vest draws on a gentle 36w that minimises the risk of burning the diver or aggravating the risk of bends through excessive capillary dilation. Depending on battery and light combination used the 'burn time' can range from 60 to 270 minutes (1 to 4.5 hours).

In stock for immediate despatch - order online or in the store. To see the vest in action visit the Silent Planet stand (Stand 1004) at the London International Dive Show - 2010.

This combination is ideal for divers who want to run the vest off a separate battery. It includes the SP vest, Halcyon canister, e/o cord and connections and a Halcyon niMhd battery.

Divers can experience massive variation between the heat that can be generated during kitting up and waiting around on the surface and the chilly temperature endured at depth, finished off by long decompression stops where typically the lack of physical activity will draw the core temperature even lower. Uniquely, our heated vest covers the lower back, providing heat to the vital kidney area.

The Heated Vest System has been designed to effectively apply heat during the decompression stage of your dive utilising you primary light battery by swapping over the underwater pluggable (E/O) cord, or at any time during the dive with an additional canister or E/O 'Y' piece. This multifunctional system allows you to build on your existing system components to apply additional heat when you need it during the dive.

The vest is designed to work safely even when your drysuit floods and at a gentle 36w minimises the risk of burning the diver or aggravating the risk of bends through excessive capillary dilation.

The Heated Vest System can be installed in minutes and can be moved between suits or even completely removed during summer months or when the dives do not require the additional heat. This functionality is achieved with an innovative combination switch which replaces your standard dry-suit inflator and routes both power and air through the one inlet as well as incorporating a rotating on / off switch.

There is thus no need to make an additional hole in your drysuit for the power supply. The switch also incorporates a relay to prevent over discharging your battery by cutting off the power supply just below 10V.
